Major Atom (2002) Make Jr. Bandits AAA History

April 28, 2013 - The Cumberland Jr. Bandits AAA Major Atom team made Jr. Bandits AAA history on Sunday taking the Gold medal at the 2013 Montreal Spring Showdown. In only the first short month of the inaugural season of the Jr. Bandits AAA Hockey Club, we have a tournament winner!

Under head coach Denis Lavergne, the Jr. Bandits went undefeated in round robin play with a record of 3-0-1. This record was good enough to grant them a bye directly to the division final. In the final the Jr. Bandits faced the Ottawa Valley Wolves and were victorious with a solid 5-1 win. The team finished the tournament with a record of 4-0-1, 23 goals for and 5 goals against.

May 19, 2013 - The Cumberland Jr. Bandits AAA Major Atom team ventured to Boston to participate in the New England Sports Centre - Spring Fling. After a three game round robin, they finished with a 2-1-0 record which was good for 6th place out of the 14 teams. This ment the team was playing for the SILVER medal. After winning their semi-final game they went on to the final where they had to play a triple over-time to decide a winner! The team won the game after scoring a goal half way through the third overtime while playing 3 on 3.
